About Julia

Julia (she/her) was raised in a suburb of Chicago and began her theatrical career working backstage in her high school's theatre department. She discovered a passion for many different aspects of theatre and began to explore acting, playwrighting, and directing as well.

She attended Beloit College and graduated in 2020 after completing a quadruple major in Theatre Production, Theatre Performance, Creative Writing, and Literary Studies. While there she worked as a supervisor in both the Costume and Scene shops and worked on a variety of productions as a technician, performer, stage manager, designer, choreographer, director, and playwright.

She was also a member of Beloit College's sketch comedy troupe Adult Themes and served, at varying times, as Secretary, Vice-President, and President of their student theatre collective BITE (Beloit Independent Theatre Experience). During her time working with BITE she ran the first three Annual 24 Hour Play Festivals and the first two annual BITE of Beloit fundraisers.

After graduating, Julia made the decision to pivot into theatre education due to her passion for working with young people. She spent a year volunteering with Americorps in the Chicago Public Schools district as a reading pullout coach in an ELA classroom. She then moved to teaching drama and directing school productions at The Grier School.
